Biography

With over 15 years of Industry Experience in the field of Data Science, Dr. Sheela has addressed business problems in domains like Industry 4.0, Manufacturing, Health Care, Smart city, etc., and provided innovative Machine Learning solutions. Built a team of Data Scientists, Big Data Architects, Visualization and Project Management for enabling end-to-end solution. Prior to joining Kyndryl, Dr. Sheela worked as an Expert – Data Science, Bosch; Senior Research Scientist and Scientist at the Research Centers of Infosys and General Motors respectively.

Sheela received Engineering (2000) from RVCE, Bengaluru, MS (2002) and PhD (2006) from University of Texas at Arlington, USA, with majors in Machine Learning and Optimization.

Dr. Sheela is recognized as one of the Top 10 Data Scientist in India, 2020 by the Analytics India Magazine; as one of the Top 10 Women Technology Leaders, 2021, by the Reva University along with Terralogic; as one of the Top150 AI leaders and Influencers, 2021, by 3AI. She is the Associate Editor for Inderscience – International Journal of Big Data Management Journal. Advisory Board member for Data Science program at multiple Institutes like, IIT Roorkee, Times Group India, PSG Institute of Technology- Coimbatore, SSN Institute- Chennai, Jain University- Bengaluru, etc., received Tool Method Invention Award, Best Poster Award, and International Best Speaker Award and many more for her innovative and novel work. She has filed four patents and has more than 25 International journal and conferences publications to her credit. Dr. Sheela is a member of various societies like, Confederation of Indian Industry, Alpha Pi Mu, Institute of Industrial Engineers, NASSCOM, INFORMS etc. She is very active in multiple forums, summit, conference, international events etc., and provided talks as Invited Speaker, Keynote Address, Chief Guest.
